Solicitor Mark Periklis has been in practice since 1997. He started his firm, Mark and Company, in his father's garage and now employs 13 lawyers and staff at his own North London offices.

Of Greek/Cypriot heritage - his grandparents came to the UK in 1928, settling in Southgate, London, where Mark still lives - he originally trained in banking law in the City. However, his love of bricks and mortar drove him to switch to property law, in which he has specialised ever since.

Mark's diverse business interests include property development, both new and restoration of old buildings to their original condition. He has also designed and project-managed the building of his own house.

"Property is a tangible asset that has many uses, but most importantly it can be physically seen, touched and admired. That's what appeals to me, and I am sure many people in the 'property game' feel the same," says Mark.
